‘Magic rabbit was first spotted only in 1983. These extremely nice and cute animals are so rare. They live in the regions of North West China.
This animal species has a name – Ili Pika but most people just call them ‘magic rabbit.’
Li Weidong was the first person who discovered the cutest rabbits. He is also the person who captured them on camera after about two decades.
Since the 80s the number of these creatures has decreased to 70%. Now there are approximately 1000 magic rabbits left in the wild.
The man decided to organize a breeding program because no one cared about them. In 2014 he gathered a team of 20 volunteers willing to rescue the species.
Soon, the man invested all of his savings for the program. Sadly, the government refused to fund the project. Li is concerned about the small number of these rabbits. He says they don’t exist in the sites that used to live.
The man now is 60 years old and soon he won’t be physically able to climb the Tianshan Mountains. He hopes that animal rescue organizations will consider his call and will pay attention to these most wonderful creatures!
