A few years ago, Brian and Starla Sullivan of Renton, Washington, USA, realized that the rent was too high for them and they simply couldn’t afford it.
But instead of despairing, they found a very unusual way out: the family moved on a school bus. When Starla suggested Brian move to live on a school bus, he thought his wife was just joking.
However, after she told him about all the benefits of this venture, he realized that this is actually the best option for their family.
Ultimately, they decided to purchase an old school bus worth $2,800, where they moved with their three children, Charlie (age 3), Henry (age 2) and Lincoln (3 months).
The family invested a lot of time and money to transform the bus into a welcoming place to live.
However, their work soon produced the first results.
The Sullivan family managed to transform an old bus into a cozy house with a living room and fully equipped kitchen.
Additionally, they managed to create a beautiful bathroom with a full tub.
The undoubted benefit is that the family now pays $500 a month in rent, which is a third of the amount they previously paid to rent their tiny apartments.
Since other costs such as electricity and water have also decreased, the couple can now save for their children’s education.
Another benefit of moving to cheaper housing was that Brian no longer had to work overtime to pay the rent and could now spend more time with his wife and children.
The Sullivan family lives very happily in their bus, they also admit that if they ever think of moving, they will most likely choose some unusual place again, and not a simple apartment
