The elevator doors opened, and the CEO — Adrian Lawson — walked into the office. Everyone was afraid of him, without exception. Whenever he appeared, people immediately fell silent, became nervous, and pretended to be completely absorbed in their work.

But Adrian suddenly smiled. Softly, and in a way completely unlike his usual self.
“She’s very observant,” he said as he stood up.
No one around us was moving. The employees stared at us as if something impossible were happening.
Then the CEO turned to me.
“I think your daughter just diagnosed me,” he said with a slight smile.
I lowered my eyes awkwardly and replied almost in a whisper:

But he suddenly shook his head.
“Don’t apologize. For the first time in years, someone has spoken honestly to me.”
After those words, he looked back at Lea again.
“As for becoming a father, I can’t promise anything,” Adrian said with a smile.
“But I definitely owe you dinner.”
