Mia’s textbooks slipped from her hands and scattered across the floor. The powerful blow made her lose her balance, and she slammed her back against the metal lockers. Pain instantly spread across her face, and tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled with all her strength to hold them back.
Dozens of students stood nearby, but no one dared to intervene because everyone knew how dangerous Derek Hunter could be if someone stood in his way.
