It’s a very nice and relaxing process to go for a spa break sometimes.
You can enjoy a healthy massage in a smelling room with a resting music, which makes your tensioned body released, also vanishing all the accumulated stress.
However, we can’t say the same for this rescued owl.
He gets a spa break, but, as if these treatments are not preferable for him. His eyes say that!
So, this ruru was found in New Zealand and taken in by Central Energy Trust Wild base Recovery.
It found out, that he was suffering from bacteria, which damaged his skin and the plumage. The center staff decided to take him for a bubble bath to be recovered more efficiently.
So the whole staff tried their best for their tiny patient to be ready to return to wild nature as soon as possible.
As the supervisor Pauline Nijman said, they washed him with a medical soap to vanish the bacteria from his body.
His skin was so oily, they washed him in a bath at 40 degrees not to hurt him, as it was the perfect temperature for owls.
The most silly thing in this story is, that the little and cute ruru looked absolutely uninspired from the procedure.
He looked quite funny with his wet feathering, and big curious eyes.
