Little Leo was only five years old. Once, he laughed, ran through the house, and never left his mother’s side. But after that terrible night when their car was attacked and the woman died right before his eyes, the child seemed to stop living.
He no longer spoke, fell into violent rages, destroyed things, and refused to let anyone approach him.
Over the course of two years, dozens of specialists, doctors, and nannies came through the house, but the boy rejected every one of them.
That morning, a new worker arrived at the mansion — Sofia. She was twenty-three years old. She was barely making ends meet and desperately trying to find money for her seriously ill mother’s treatment.

Everyone expected her to scream or run away. But Sofia slowly knelt in front of the boy and quietly said:

But at the same time, Sofia began noticing strange things.
Sometimes, in the middle of the night, Leo would wake up in panic and scream as if he saw someone in the room. Several times, Sofia found terrifying threatening notes and drawings made with red paint beneath the child’s bed. And one day, trembling with fear, the boy whispered:
— She came again… she said they’ll take me away forever soon…
Sofia realized that someone was deliberately terrifying the child and pushing him into new breakdowns.
She secretly began watching what was happening inside the house. For several nights, the young woman hid in the dark hallway near Leo’s room until she finally saw the figure of a woman wearing a long black robe.
The stranger quietly entered the room, placed another note beside the bed, and began whispering horrifying things to the boy about a psychiatric hospital.
When the woman turned toward the light, Sofia nearly lost her breath.
It was Victoria — Leo’s aunt and Daniel’s sister.
Little by little, Sofia put everything together. It was Victoria who had been planting the threatening letters, frightening the child at night, and intentionally provoking his hysterical episodes so everyone would see the boy as dangerous and mentally unstable.
She understood perfectly well that if Leo were sent to a closed psychiatric clinic and Daniel completely lost trust in everyone around him, she would be the only person left by his side — the only “loyal” one.
Sofia decided to tell Daniel the truth, but at first he refused to believe her. For many years, Victoria had been the closest person to him after his wife’s death. However, soon Sofia showed him the surveillance footage she had secretly recorded in the hallway outside Leo’s room.
The video clearly showed Victoria entering the child’s room at night and driving him into panic.
For Daniel, it was a devastating blow. That very day, he ordered his sister thrown out of the house immediately and completely cut her off from all family affairs. And for the first time in a very long time, Leo finally felt safe again.
