At our school, everyone was afraid of Tyler, a seventeen-year-old boy. His father was a wealthy businessman who donated large sums of money to the school every year. That was why the principal turned a blind eye to the antics of his most important sponsor’s son.
Tyler could insult a teacher, shove a younger student, or disrupt a lesson. He always got away with it.
But the person he most enjoyed bullying was Mrs. Eleanor, a sixty-two-year-old history teacher.

Eleanor calmly released the boy’s arm. Tyler jumped to his feet and hid behind the principal.

“Don’t worry, Tyler,” the principal hurried to reassure him. “I’ll deal with this woman personally.”
Eleanor straightened her skirt and looked at Robert.
“Aren’t you even going to ask what your student did?”

“I’m afraid, Robert, that you’re the one who will have to leave today.”
The principal burst out laughing, but the smile vanished from his face when Eleanor pulled an identification badge from her pocket.

The hallway fell completely silent.

It turned out that Eleanor had deliberately taken a job at the school as a history teacher. For some time, the police had been receiving complaints from parents who said their children were being bullied, families were being asked for money under the pretext of mandatory donations, and those who refused to pay were pressured to transfer their children to other schools.
