Sam Gets a “Yes” from His Girlfriend, Despite Being Rejected by the Judges

Although the judges decided not to advance him to the next round, his performance concluded with an incredibly emotional and memorable momen.

During his rendition of Del Shannon’s “Runaway,” Simon stopped the performance and asked Sam to sing without the backing track to better showcase his voice.

After consulting with the panel, Simon delivered the final verdict, dashing Sam’s hopes. “To be honest, we all really like you,” he said. “But we’ll have to say no. That said, I’m confident people will love you.”

Disappointed, Sam asked, “Is there anything I can do before I leave? I’ll never have another chance like this.” At that moment, he called Emma to the stage.

Kneeling down, Sam asked, “Can I at least get a ‘Yes’ from you?”

Emma’s positive response filled the stage with emotion, leaving Nicole visibly moved.

“You’ve got a wonderful guy by your side,” Simon told Emma. “In my opinion, this is far more important than our ‘Yes.’”

Later, Sam joked, “At least I got one ‘Yes,’ and that’s more than enough for me.”
