This is a unique scene of a snoozing pod of sperm whales. For most of us this is a discovery, because we can’t imagine how the sea creatures live in the oceans. And it is obvious that they sleep in this way.
But how?
Scientists has strived to answer the question for many years.
And now Franco Banfi, achieved the level to meet the massive sea creatures in the bottom of the ocean, and took photos of them from top to bottom, while they were asleep.
Look! They are just amazing!
Scientists managed to make the snoozing sperm whales on film only at the beginning of 2008.
In 2008, scientists from Japan and Great Britain, while making discoveries, they managed to meet a pod of the sea creatures by chance, which were vertically stock-still in the deep sea.
Then the scientists came to the conclusion, that these incredible creatures pass 7% of their lives sleeping.
These amazing sperm whales snooze for short periods. They snooze with pauses of 6 to 24 minutes.
Diver Sabrina Belloni was the first scuba diver-model, who was photoed with snoozing sea giants, for a documentary film on them.
These exclusive sea mammals looked even more gigantic compared to humans.
It seems, that they are a symbol of peace and harmony, as the sea itself is.
