For most of humanity, it’s difficult to imagine life without meat. But when it comes to eating dog meat, it’s impossible to agree on this.

Isn’t it enough to fight against animal abuse, animal advocates have to deal with this universal problem?

Unfortunately, in some Asian countries, humans don’t give up on eating dog meat. These creatures, which are our best friends become food for many people. It’s just horrible to imagine.

These victims are mainly strays or house pets that can be stolen. Poor dogs are put in cramped cages before their turn to become food.

For South Koreans eating a dog is a cultural practice. It dates back centuries, although now more citizens speak against the sick practice.

Recently, the president of South Korea has spoken against looking at this species as food. He announced the possible inhibition of dog consumption.

President Moon Jae asked the prime minister about considering banning the horrible practice.

President’s worries on this topic made many citizens protest against killing these creatures. Younger generations are convinced that abusing or killing dogs is taboo, as many of them have dogs as pets.

Although the majority of Koreans are against this practice, still 1 million dogs are eaten in the country during 1 year.

President Moon Jae is famous for his love for dogs. Let’s hope his efforts will give a good result and finally the sick tradition will be cut out from the Korean culture.
