Six months ago, I lost my mother. The illness took her far too quickly, and the only place that still reminded me of her was a small house by the lake. I loved going there alone about once a month to tidy up and make sure everything was in order.

When Daniel came home, he tried to accuse me of crossing the line. But I reminded him that he was the one who had spent months bringing other women into the house I had inherited from my mother.
After that conversation, I gathered the documents and contacted a lawyer. Some time later, we began the divorce proceedings.
I kept the lakeside house. And Daniel finally understood that his secret meetings had ended along with our marriage.
