The challenge was to revamp an old, neglected 5m² kitchen. Spaces like these are common in older apartment buildings, and they often require a complete overhaul to become both beautiful and practical.
From worn-out wallpaper to outdated furniture and appliances, everything in this kitchen needed a fresh start. The first step was clearing out all the old elements—removing cabinets, dismantling appliances, and stripping the walls of their aging layers.
Before starting the renovation, all surfaces were carefully leveled. To make the space feel more open, we opted for a crisp white color scheme, instantly bringing in a sense of airiness.
Matching white appliances and furniture further enhanced the clean, modern aesthetic. The final result? A kitchen that feels much more spacious, bright, and incredibly inviting!
One common mistake in kitchen design is overloading the space with storage units. Instead, we streamlined the layout by placing all furniture and appliances along a single wall.
The refrigerator found its place by the window, with a microwave positioned just above it. While this setup might seem unconventional, the kitchen’s owners find it perfectly convenient for their needs.
Next to the fridge, we installed an oven and a gas stovetop, accompanied by a striking black sink. This bold contrast added a touch of elegance and modernity to the overall look.
Every appliance was carefully positioned to maximize functionality without making the kitchen feel overcrowded.
Upper cabinets were dedicated to food storage, keeping essentials within easy reach, while the lower ones were designed to house dishware and kitchen tools.
One unique design choice? We chose not to conceal the gas pipe, allowing it to subtly blend into the minimalist decor.
To enhance versatility, a compact, transformable dining table was included. When needed, it can easily be moved to the living area—perfect for family gatherings and festive meals.
The combination of sleek cabinets, well-placed appliances, and a clutter-free aesthetic made this small kitchen feel significantly more open and inviting. A smart and stylish transformation that proves even the tiniest kitchens can be a dream space!
