I decided to buy a bottle of fresh milk from a village milkmaid, but what I saw on her wrist turned my whole world upside down…
After eating by the side of a deserted road, I decided to buy a bottle of fresh milk from a country woman. But as soon as her hand brushed against mine, I froze, as if time had stopped. What I saw on her wrist shook me to the core. 😱😱😱
I hadn’t planned to stop, but after the conference I felt only tired and hungry — and I couldn’t resist when I saw a wooden table with homemade food.
A woman in an apron served me a meal and a cup of herbal tea. Everything was simple, homely — and, strangely enough, it was exactly what I’d been missing. I ate, and for the first time in a long while, I felt at peace.
When I was ready to leave, she said:
— Take some milk at the bend. Real, fresh milk.
A few minutes later I saw her — a young woman in a warm scarf, carrying a crate of bottles. Her smile was gentle, almost transparent.
— Is the milk fresh? — I asked.
— Milked this morning, — she replied, handing me the bottle.
And in that moment, everything changed.
😨😵 I instinctively looked at her hand — and a chill ran down my spine. I froze. What I saw on her wrist turned my insides upside down…

I looked at her hand — on her wrist glimmered a vintage watch — the very same one that wasn’t supposed to exist anymore. I recognized it instantly. And I knew: coincidences don’t exist.
I tried to speak calmly:
— Excuse me… but that watch… where did you get it?
She froze. Stayed silent for a few seconds, then sighed:
— My aunt left it to me. Before she died. She told me never to sell it — it’s a memory of the man she loved.
I felt the air grow heavy.
— Your aunt? What was her name? — I asked, almost in a whisper.
— Emma, — she replied, looking away. — She lived in the city, worked in a clinic. She always wore that watch and said a man had given it to her.
The world around me grew quiet. The sound of the road faded, even the wind stilled.
I stood there, unable to say a word. The watch I thought was lost forever was right in front of me again — a reminder that the past never truly disappears.
I had a strange feeling — as if Emma herself stood before me, only in another body. My chest tightened. I knew it was impossible… and yet, the feeling was terrifyingly real.
I exhaled and said:
— Listen… I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. It’s just that… Emma was a very dear person to me. If you don’t mind, I’d like to stay in touch with you. Not as a stranger — but as two people connected by her memory.
The young woman hesitated. She stayed silent for a few seconds, then slowly nodded:
— All right.
