The story of saving these crumbs began on October 11, when the workers of the rescue center discovered them. It seemed that fate itself turned away from them: they were born on the street during heavy rains and terrible cold, and their small and skinny bodies were covered with parasites.
The babies were also diagnosed with pneumonia, and their eyes were so badly infected that they could not see anything.
Unfortunately, the smallest sister could not cope with her illness and went to the rainbow, although the doctors tried to do everything possible to save her.
“I have never seen so many fleas in my 15 years as a veterinarian. Plus, they had ticks, ulcers, terrible conjunctivitis … ”, recalls Hayes, their foster mother.
And if veterinarians coped with parasites with the help of various means and baths, then things were worse with the eyes. Eye drops stopped helping them. And then the doctor came up with something interesting …
It occurred to him to use the dog’s blood to make a serum based on it, which was supposed to help the kittens.
“Ideally, it would be great to use the animal’s own blood, but with these kittens, this option would not work. They are too weak,” says the doctor.
Harley, a huge royal dog, answered the call for help. He became the most necessary blood donor. Veterinarians managed to make special drops for kittens and it worked!
Now the kittens are getting their eyesight back. People have made titanic efforts to keep these crumbs alive. And looking at these kittens, they understand that all this was not in vain!
