Instead of splurging on a pricey modern apartment, we chose to invest in an older one — one that came with a breathtaking view and a much more reasonable price tag.
This decision allowed us to stick to our budget while tailoring the space entirely to our personal style and comfort.
Naturally, not everyone understood. Our close circle expressed concern and even disapproval, warning us about the challenges of renovating such a worn-out place. But we stayed firm and moved forward — soon bringing a professional designer on board.
The apartment spans 56 square meters. For the hallway, we opted for a sky-blue shade on the walls, which brought in brightness and made the corridor feel more spacious.
The floor was laid with white tiles featuring a playful pattern, and we added a sleek bench and a full-length mirror to enhance the look.
The kitchen flooring matches that of the hallway, creating a seamless transition. The two-tone walls are joined by a bold orange molding.
A corner kitchen unit with gray-olive cabinetry was installed, and we picked square white tiles with dark grout for the backsplash. In the center, a cozy round dining table with chairs completes the setup.
The living room shares space with the bedroom, creating an open, airy environment. We placed a deep blue sofa and a chic coffee table, while the sleeping area includes a spacious bed, tall windows, beige curtains, and a comfy reading chair.
One of our favorite additions is the eye-catching modern chandelier, which truly elevates the entire room.
Knowing the importance of space for children, we designed a kid’s room too. It features a compact bed with smart storage underneath — practical and playful at once.
As for the bathroom, it’s relatively roomy. It includes a traditional bathtub, a stylish sink, and a round mirror to complete the clean, modern vibe.
