This story took place at a meteorological station near Lake Baikal. Station workers found a tiny baby seal on the shore. The tiny thing hardly moved and was exhausted.
The baby was immediately taken to the station, where he received care and attention. Including the station dog, whose name was Nika. Perhaps Nika thought that the seal was a puppy, and she began to warm him up and lick him.
She gave him so much love and affection that the seal began to recover and soon became healthy and cheerful.
The baby was named Umka and fed with chopped fish, and since seals eat only in water, a bath was organized for him.
All this time, Nika did not leave the “puppy” for a second. During the day, he was left on the rocks to bask in the sun, periodically placed in a bath to feed him.
When the baby was first released into the lake, he swam 500 meters and returned to the nannies. This happened again the next day.
On the third day, the seal swam away and never returned. Having become a little sad, Nika began to nurse the domestic goats, and you can be sure that they received the same warmth and care from her.
