🌊🏝️ My friend and I were walking along the beach, collecting pretty stones, when I stumbled upon this sphere. It was definitely not a sea stone. 🤔 I had no idea what it could be, but here’s what my friend told me… 😲👇
— This doesn’t look like any stone I’ve seen before, — I said, picking it up. It was perfectly smooth, almost like polished granite, yet surprisingly light.
My friend took it in his hands, turned it around, and suddenly smiled widely:
— This is just resin!
— Resin? — I asked, surprised.
— Yes! Sometimes, the sea washes up hardened resin pieces, especially if there used to be old ships or factories nearby. It may look like a stone, but it’s much lighter and sometimes even has a distinct smell.
I brought the object closer to my nose and indeed noticed a faint resinous scent. What a surprise!
We kept examining it, wondering how long it had been in the water. Maybe decades?
As I rolled the sphere between my hands, my friend added thoughtfully:
— Imagine if someone mistook it for a gemstone!
We both laughed and decided to keep it as a unique souvenir. Now I’ll be paying more attention to where I step because the beach is full of surprises!
