😲😥It has been three days since the person dearest to my heart — my daughter, seven months pregnant — was admitted to the hospital.
I stepped out of the room for a few minutes to let some fresh air in, and I stopped by the window. My heart tightened when I saw Tom, my son-in-law, walk in. With him was a blonde woman in expensive shoes, her sharp perfume instantly filling the room. She introduced herself as a “colleague from work.”
I pressed closer to the glass. Tom looked around the hallway and locked the door. The woman approached the monitors.
— Are you sure? — she whispered.
— It’s decided, Emily. Today it all ends.
I felt my blood turn cold. Tom leaned over Sofia and reached toward the oxygen tube.
Without thinking for even a second, I walked back into the room. My voice was quiet but firm:
— I see everything.
Tom froze, and the woman dropped her bag. I stood between them and my daughter.
😨😲What happened in the next few minutes changed everything.

Tom froze when I stood between him and Sofia. Panic flickered in the blonde woman’s eyes. I felt anger rising in my chest, but also a cold determination: no one would hurt my daughter.
Suddenly Tom lunged toward me. He wanted to push past me to reach the oxygen tube. My heart nearly stopped — every second could have been fatal.
Then a noise echoed in the hallway. The seconds dragged on until the door burst open and security guards rushed in. They immediately surrounded the room.
Tom tried to resist, but he had no chance. They grabbed him and, despite his struggle, dragged him out of the room. The woman behind him was crying and shouting something, but the guards ignored her.
I was trembling from the adrenaline, but pride filled me as I saw my daughter safe. Sofia was still unconscious, but now I knew that no one could harm her or her baby.
My heart slowly calmed, but I understood one thing: that night changed us forever. And Tom and his accomplice would never step into our home again.
