I made a bet with a friend that you can turn anything into a “work of art.” š
One day, he brought me this old red chair ā with cracked upholstery, scratched plastic legs, and an overall look of “I survived the ’90s and I’m tired.” š§
š¤¦Honestly, at that moment, I regretted my bet ā I had absolutely no inspiration. šµāš«The only thought running through my head was: “Well, I’m stuck…” š
But what’s said is said, so I got to work. And now, the final result is ready. š® Check out the “before” and “after” photos in the first comment and let me know ā did I win the bet or not? š
I decided to pass this test. First, I completely dismantled the chair: removed the old upholstery, took out the worn-out foam, and replaced the plastic legs with wooden ones to give it a warmer and more refined look.
I spent a long time choosing the fabric ā I wanted to move away from the flashy red and make something lighter and more stylish.
In the end, I chose a soft upholstery in a light shade, which refreshed the whole look of the chair. I also slightly altered the shape of the backrest and seat to make it more comfortable and modern.
And here it is ā the final result. I didnāt expect it to turn out so well: from a gloomy old chair, it turned into a stylish piece of furniture that I wouldnāt be ashamed to place in a living room or a trendy lounge.
