After becoming king, he mercilessly threw the true queen into a well, proclaimed himself the new ruler, and was certain that he could now get away with anything. But he had no idea that just a few days later, a punishment awaited him for this crime—one that would make even the most terrible suffering pale in comparison. 😱😨
The courtyard of the royal palace erupted with cheers and applause.
— Long live the queen! Long live the king!
Hundreds of people smiled, raised their glasses, and congratulated the young couple. No one could have imagined that just a few minutes later, this joyful celebration would turn into a nightmare.
The young queen was glowing with happiness. She was only eighteen years old and believed that this day marked the beginning of her new life beside the man she loved.
Suddenly, the king approached her, embraced her tightly, and unexpectedly lifted her into his arms.
The guests smiled even more.
— What a caring husband! — they whispered.
Everyone assumed that the king would carry his young wife to the celebration area, where musicians and tables covered with food were already waiting.
But he went in the opposite direction.
With every step, the smile on the king’s face became stranger and more unsettling.
He walked straight toward an old stone well.
The queen still didn’t understand what was happening. She looked happily at her husband and laughed softly.
And at that very moment, the king stopped.
He looked into her eyes.
There was not a trace of love left in his gaze. There was only the greed of a man who had finally obtained what he had been pursuing for years.
— You know — he said coldly — your role in my life is over.
The queen stopped smiling.
— What?..
— I have gotten everything I wanted from you. Thanks to you, I now have the crown… and absolute power.
He paused for a moment and smirked.
— Goodbye.
The queen didn’t even have time to scream. The king violently threw her into the well.
A piercing scream rang out across the courtyard, followed by such a deep silence that the only sound was the echo coming from the depths of the stone walls.
The courtiers stood frozen in horror.
The king slowly turned toward them.
— And now — he hissed — say: “Long live the new king!”
No one dared to move.
— I said: long live the new king!
The first courtier, trembling with fear, whispered:
— Long live the new king…
The others immediately joined in:
— Long live the new king! Long live the new king!
The king burst into laughter. Now he didn’t even try to hide his insane thirst for power.
But he still didn’t know that just a few days later, a punishment awaited him for this act—one that would make even the worst suffering seem insignificant. 😱😱

But the king did not know that his victory that night would be nothing more than the beginning of the end.
When the courtyard emptied and the guests had left, several of the queen’s most loyal servants secretly returned to the well. They climbed down and could hardly believe their eyes.
The queen was severely injured, but she was alive.
She lay unconscious, barely breathing.
The servants brought her back up, hid her in a secret place, and kept her hidden from the king for several months. The best physicians fought day after day to save her life.
And one day, the queen opened her eyes.
When she had fully recovered, it was time to reclaim what had been taken from her.
Secretly gathering her loyal supporters, she began preparing a rebellion.
But the greatest blow to the king came from somewhere else.
When his soldiers saw that the queen was alive, many refused to fight against her. Half of his own army switched sides and joined the rightful ruler.
Within just a few hours, the palace was surrounded.
The king was captured and stripped of his crown.
A public trial was held in the square. In front of thousands of people, the queen was brought before him.
— You wanted to obtain power at any cost — she said. — Now you will answer for everything.
The king was tied to a post. The crowd demanded that he be punished.
Then the queen picked up a stone.
— Anyone who believes he deserves this may do the same.
She threw the first stone.
An ear-splitting roar erupted across the square.
One after another, people began throwing stones. Among them were those who had lost loved ones, those who had lived in fear of the king for years, and those who hated his cruelty.
Thus, the man who had thrown his own wife into a well for the sake of power met his end at the hands of those he had once ruled.
And the queen returned to the throne.
Now she knew: true power is not built on fear, but on the loyalty of the people.
