When my husband’s grandmother decided to sell her house and move in with my mother-in-law, she left behind a few treasured items.
On one of my visits to her new home, I spotted a nightstand that immediately grabbed my attention.
I asked if I could have it, and soon after, I began planning its transformation.
The nightstand was in rough shape—its paint was chipped, and the legs were wobbly.
Despite its condition, I had a vision for how it could be revived.
I started by carefully stripping off the old coating, which was a tedious process, but my excitement about the end result kept me going.
For the makeover, I chose a soft pastel color that added a contemporary touch while still honoring its vintage appeal.
I also swapped out the old handles for retro-style knobs and installed sleek, modern legs to make the piece more stable and stylish.
