“Let me go,” Mia said quietly when one of the men suddenly shoved her shoulder against the cold brick wall.
She was walking home late that evening and was almost at her car when three strangers blocked her path. At first, they simply mocked her, but then one of them demanded that she hand over her bag. Mia tried to walk past them, but the man grabbed her arm.
She felt everything inside her tighten. There were almost no people around, and the nearest windows were dark. The men exchanged glances and smiled as if what was happening was nothing more than an ordinary game to them.
“Don’t make this complicated. Just give me the bag,” the tallest one said.
Mia held it even tighter against herself. There was nothing valuable inside, but for some reason, she simply couldn’t bring herself to obey.

Mia suddenly grabbed him by the collar and pulled him toward her.

She pulled her phone from her pocket, turned on the camera, and tapped the screen.
The men froze.
But a second later, their expressions changed even more because a livestream was already running on the screen, and the number of viewers kept growing.
Then Mia unexpectedly turned the phone toward one of them.
“Meet someone. This is your father.”
No one said a word.
The man on the screen really was the father of one of the young men. He was watching the livestream during a work meeting where Mia had recently filmed material for a local company. She knew him personally and understood perfectly what would happen if he saw what his son was doing.
But the most unexpected thing happened afterward.
Mia turned off the camera and calmly said:

The young man who had been holding her arm slowly loosened his grip.
