Derek and Raquel Pearson lived in Nampa, Idaho with their eight-month-old baby, Lucas.
A delivery driver named Monica Salinas was delivering food to little Lucas who was an at-risk baby. The child suffered from heart problems and had eating difficulties.
“He needs special thickeners to be able to eat, so we really depend on all of these products being available online so we don’t have to go to the store and bring home a virus,” Lucas’ mother said.
A few weeks ago, Raquel was expecting a large package containing food supplies for her boy. While waiting, the mother noticed something special about her Amazon delivery driver on the surveillance camera.
Monica Salinas was standing in front of the door and Raquel didn’t understand what she was doing. Then the mother realized the delivery driver was praying.
So Salinas stopped to say a prayer. This prayer was captured on the family’s camera.
“I am extremely touched that a stranger would take time out of her day to wish our son well,” Raquel said.
The Pearsons were very impressed and moved by the heartbreaking act of kindness on the part of the delivery driver.
They posted the video of their Amazon delivery driver praying for their son on a local Facebook group and it went viral.
Monica Salinas was stunned by the reaction to the video on Facebook. The woman said she received countless messages.
“There was a note saying their baby’s food was essential, and every time I see that note it touches my heart,” Salinas said.
She explained that she just stopped to do what her heart told her to do, to say a prayer for the baby and for his parents,
Salinas was moved to see that so many people were touched by her prayer.
