“The Mountain Man” begins to transform and appears as a silver fox. The Covid-19 pandemic has become a stressful period for everyone and a time of change for most people.
Some are growing their hair out, while others are gaining weight, and some are shaving it off. Many men have decided they no longer need to worry about shaving their beards and let them grow freely.
One man took this decision to the extreme and grew his hair and beard for two years until they became very long and unkempt.
Lance, a husband and father from Boone, North Carolina, did not touch the hair on his head throughout the entire pandemic and looked like a mountain man.
Lance’s wife, Nicole, still madly loved her husband after 24 years of living together, but she had a hard time recognizing him.
The 52-year-old man, who had always embraced a casual outdoor style, now looked like a man who hadn’t seen civilization in a long time.
Due to the gray hair and long white beard, he was nicknamed Santa Claus. He was repeatedly mistaken for a child’s grandfather.
Feeling more comfortable in stained jeans and a t-shirt, Nicole had to hide her husband’s best jeans so he wouldn’t ruin them.
Most often, Lance spent time playing outdoors with his children and dogs, hiking, and helping neighbors with whatever they needed. Throughout their marriage, Nicole had seen her husband sport various beard styles.
Sometimes he had a goatee, sometimes a lush but well-groomed beard, and sometimes he was neatly shaved. Nicole said she loved the bearded guy, but she wasn’t ready for all the beards Lance could offer.
Finally, Lance began to realize it was time to get rid of this disheveled look. So, when Nicole mentioned the idea of involving him in Rachel Ray’s transformation show, he seized the opportunity.
They witnessed transformations happening together and knew that Lance could convince Rachel’s team and be amazing.
He entrusted his hair and self-confidence to Tommy Didario, a regular lifestyle coach, and hairstylist Erika Fleischmann.
Together, they transformed a father who looked much older than his age into a man who looked much younger.
It’s amazing what a good haircut, a well-groomed beard, and stylish clothes can do to give a man a completely new look.
When he first appeared on stage, Nicole was shocked and surprised to see how wonderful her husband looked.
“I feel like I’m cheating on someone,” she said when she could finally speak again.
And Lance looked happy too. He shone while receiving applause from the audience and compliments from Rachel and the team.
Nicole loved her husband regardless, but she was happy to finally see his face and was no longer afraid to blush from a simple kiss.
