When Katie Davis was about to get married, she chose 13 special guests to participate in her wedding celebration.
They were the girls the young woman had recently adopted. The heroine of this story, Katie Davis, lived in Nashville, a city in Tennessee.
She lived with her family in a large, comfortable house and had everything a young girl needed to live carefree and happy.
Her parents wanted Katie to continue her education at the university to get a good education.
But the young girl had other plans. The 18-year-old girl left everything behind and went to Uganda for a charitable mission.
Everyone thought Katie wouldn’t be able to stay there for long. But after her departure, she announced that she would stay in Uganda forever.
In 2008, Katie founded a charitable organization called Amazima, whose main purpose was to help those in need and educate children.
At first, Katie adopted a girl, but over time, the number of her adopted daughters reached 13.
” I look at them, and I think my adopted children were sent to me from heaven. They help me experience the love and harmony of life more deeply,” said Katie Davis.
The young girl was already 25 when she married Benji Majors. Like her, the young man had come to Uganda for a charitable mission.
Benji knew that his fiancée had a large family, and he was very happy to become a member of this warm household.
Their wedding took place with the 13 girls that Katie had adopted. A year later, the couple had a son, whom they named Noah.
“My husband and my 14 children are a true blessing from God. When the girls call him ‘dad,’ my heart fills with joy,” explained Katie.
Currently, the large family lives in a village near Lake Victoria. Katie wrote a book called “Kisses from Katie,” which soon became a best-seller.
Every year, Katie’s mother visits her and supports her daughter because she understands that charity is her calling.
