The native of the United States Margaret Boemer literally fought for the life of her future baby.
She was 16 weeks pregnant when doctors confirmed that her little one’s life was in danger.
This meant that a cancer was discovered in the fetus which was preventing its nutrition.
Margaret had to make an incredibly difficult choice: accept a very risky operation that could end badly for the little one and herself, or terminate the pregnancy.
The surgeon explained that the fetus would have to be removed from the uterus, operated on and replaced back in the uterus.
In fact, it was a very dangerous surgery. And the doctors were surprised by Margaret’s decision.
Although the young woman has two daughters, she refused to terminate the pregnancy and announced that she was ready to undergo an operation.
Baby Lilith Hope, who weighed just 500 grams, was removed from her mother’s uterus and the malignant tumor was removed from her spine.
The removal of the tumor lasted only 20 minutes, but the whole procedure took five hours, because the embryo had to be separated from the uterus and after the tumor was removed, placed in its place.
We could say that the little girl was born for the first time and would come into the world again the second time.
After this incredible operation, 12 weeks passed and baby Lilith was reborn.
The baby was healthy and weighed two and a half kilos. After her birth, the little one underwent another operation to remove the remains of the tumor.
Fortunately, everything went well and mother and daughter returned home. Now Lilith is growing up like any ordinary child.
