A woman stole eggs to feed her family, and instead of arresting her, a police officer brought her some food

Poverty often forces people to do things they would never do in normal circumstances.

That’s why when a woman had to decide between stealing or letting her children go hungry, she chose the former option without hesitation.

She attempted to take five eggs from a store without paying, but she was caught almost immediately.

When Police Officer William Stacey arrived at the scene and learned about the woman’s story, instead of arresting her, he decided to come to her aid.

It turned out that the “guilty” woman was raising two daughters, a sister, and two grandchildren, one of whom was just a year old, and the second was three years old.

They were living on only $120 per month.

However, fate seemed to think that was not enough.

Someone robbed the woman last week, and the family ended up on the brink of starvation.

It had been two days since they had last eaten. So, the woman decided to go to the supermarket.

She had just over a dollar and the determination to buy five eggs. The woman was in great desperation when she discovered that the eggs were a bit more expensive than she had expected. But she still put five pieces in her pocket.

Unfortunately, she was detained, and the eggs were taken away. The police were called by the supermarket staff.

But when Officer William Stacey heard why the woman had behaved so badly, he decided not to press charges against Mrs. Johnson and let her go.

When the officer approached her, she was convinced that he would arrest her and began to cry.

In fact, the police officer decided to make sure that what she said wasn’t a lie and came to see how she lived.

Seeing the genuine need in the family, he realized that the woman wasn’t deceiving him and was driven by desperation.

The policeman bought a pack of eggs. And when the woman tried to ask him how she could thank him, he only asked her not to steal anymore.

He hugged her and left.

The next day, William, along with his colleagues, came to the woman’s home in two cars, loaded with supplies for the entire family.

“I hadn’t seen so much food in a long time. The last time was when I was twelve and living with my grandmother,” said the woman.

“I cried with joy for almost a whole day.”

Subsequently, the police decided to create a fund. They began to raise funds to help the woman’s family in some way.

Responses came from various parts of the world. Money, food, and clothes were sent to the woman.
