Kara Brookins is a remarkable woman who has gone through a lot of difficulties in recent times.
She has gone through two difficult divorces and has had to deal with difficult partners who caused her much fear, despair, and uncertainty.
Kara was left to raise her four children on her own after her difficult experiences.
This prompted her to make a significant change in her life.
One day, she saw a tornado strike an apartment complex, leaving only the foundation remaining.
This inspired Kara to build her own frame house, as she realized that it would be a simple structure that she could construct on her own.
When Kara had this idea, her children were 2, 11, 15 and 17 years old.
To make it happen, she had to take out a loan of $150,000 from a bank.
Together with her children, she used building materials and YouTube videos to construct a large house.
They taught themselves how to pour cement, cover walls with plasterboard, lay bricks, and most importantly, work together as a team.
Now Kara no longer worries about her children.
Kara is convinced that the experience of building a house as a family has strengthened her children and prepared them to face future challenges with more confidence.
She believes that the teamwork and problem-solving skills they acquired during the building process have made them more resilient and better equipped to handle difficult situations.
She admits that the decision to build a house with no prior experience was quite naive, but also believes that sometimes courage and determination can be found in unexpected places.
The final outcome of their hard work was a large and impressive house, measuring 1066 square meters.
The house has all the amenities one could want and more, including 5 bedrooms, a large garage that can fit 3 cars, a workshop, and a spacious living room.
