đ±đ±We only wanted to help a helpless old woman pick up the groceries that had spilled, but the next moment we were surrounded by police officers who twisted our arms behind our backs. We were shocked when we found out who this âpoor old ladyâ really was.
My friends and I walked out of the café and were laughing as we crossed the street. Suddenly, we noticed a helpless grandmother: her bags had torn right in the middle of the crosswalk, and fruits and vegetables were rolling everywhere.
She was turning around in confusion, not knowing what to do. We immediately ran to her and quickly gathered everything â picking up every little item as if her life depended on it.
The old lady thanked us incoherently, and we just smiled â it felt good to help her.
But suddenly, the wail of sirens filled the air. Police cars blocked the road, and we were surrounded by officers. They walked forward slowly, weapons raised.
â On the ground! All of you! â we heard.
The cold metal of the handcuffs tightened around my wrists. But what shocked me most was that two officers were holding the old woman even more firmly than us.
đšđšWe thought we were saving a defenseless old lady. When we found out who she really was and what was inside her âaccidentally tornâ bag⊠everything inside me froze.

At the station, everything started to become clear. They separated us into different rooms and asked the same questions over and over, trying to catch us in contradictions.
But the biggest revelation came later: it turned out that this âhelplessâ grandmother had been selling illegal substances right on the street, among young people.
The police told us they had been watching her for a long time, trying to trace the entire chain â those who supplied her and those who protected her.
Our sudden presence next to her only disrupted their operation, so they decided to act immediately to avoid losing anyone.
For us, it was a shock. We had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It took almost a month, dozens of interrogations, and a very good lawyer to prove that we didnât know her, didnât know what she was doing, and had no connection whatsoever to her network.
When we were finally released, I couldnât believe for a long time that a simple act of kindness could pull us into a story like that.
