Two months ago, we changed the faucet, but this thing was only discovered now, under the kitchen sink, near the garbage bins.🔧 A small, but heavy metal disc, with a diameter of about 5 cm. There are no markings on the surface. What is this? 🤔
I spent a long time trying to figure out what this could be, and only after a while did I find the answer.👇
It turns out that it is a C-shaped bracket designed to secure the faucet to the underside of the sink. This small part looks insignificant at first glance, but it plays an important role in the process of installing plumbing fixtures.
This bracket holds the faucet in place so it doesn’t wobble or loosen during use. Typically, if the faucet is installed correctly, it’s not necessary, as older models of faucets can stay in place without it.
However, if the bracket was lost or never installed, the faucet might wobble, causing discomfort during use.
When I discovered this part, I realized that it probably wasn’t needed during the installation of the new faucet, as it was securely attached. However, it’s possible that in older models without this bracket, the faucet could have wobbled, which would have caused additional problems.
Now I have kept the bracket just in case. It might come in handy in the future during repairs or plumbing replacements. Sometimes small details that seem insignificant can play a key role in long-term durability.
