Angela Formosa, a woman from London, gave birth to Siamese twins. The babies were bonded and shared the same intestines.
When the twins were born, with her husband Daniel, a taxi driver, Angela had a five-year-old daughter called Lily. He was a normal child and had no health problems.
And the birth of Siamese twins was something unimaginable and astonishing for the parents.
Twins Rosie and Rabi were born connected at the navel and as their common part of the intestine was not functioning well, they needed to undergo surgery as quickly as possible.
So pediatric surgeons Edward Keely and Agostino Pierro decided to share the girls when they were still little, around three months old.
But the chance that the intervention could succeed was not very great.
Fortunately, the sisters’ separation went well and the doctors were very happy with the results of the procedure.
“They are doing very well and are gaining weight. They are normal, energetic babies,” said the children’s mother.
Although after the surgery, Rosie and Rabi were under medical supervision for a long time, they began to lead normal lives.
The parents of the rescued little girls are infinitely happy to see their children separated and in good health.
Now the former conjoined twins are ten years old and adorable little girls.
