Though these California spouses discovered 10 million dollars of hidden gold coins they turn out to be not so lucky after all.
As news has reported, the coins might be stolen from the U.S. Mint in the 1900s and are still considered to be government property.
As the couple announced, they found the unique coins in their backyard in an old and hidden can.
And as they joked, that luxury is like a “hot potato”, as they only can look at them, without tasting them.
However, the rare treasures are mostly uncirculated and still are in mint condition.
Indeed, the findings are so rare and treasurable that they add up in face value to 27,000 dollars.
And, as a newspaper stated, the coins perfectly match the golden heist in 1900 from the San Francisco Mint.
As an expert, Don Kagin told ABC News the whole working staff is stunned by the sensation.
He stated, that since 1981, many people have brought us one or two of them which we appreciated a few thousand dollars.
However, this was the rare case we get an entire cache of buried coins.
He added, that it was a million-to-one chance! It was even harder to believe in, like winning a lottery!
Later, they also reported that the famous couple is ready to sell most of them, after loaning some of them.
