Once, the members of a family were spending their summer holidays on one of the shores of the river St. Lawrence.
Unexpectedly, the brothers noticed a newborn white sea canary washed away from the water.
Nicholas Milliard, who was only 15 years old, and his junior brothers rescued the poor little creature.
They spilled water in every 5 minutes to help the sea canary survive, not to be dried out.
Milliard later said that they dug a hole to pour the water, which would be gathered there to hydrate and protect the whale’s skin.
The family from Quebec instantly called the rescuers for help, and they kept on caring for the newborn baby, until the specialists came.
Luckily, the family had properly done everything, and the beluga whale was safe and sound.
Then the specialists just turned back the newborn beluga into the water.
So, they let him go wishing with all their hearts, that the little adorable creature would be reunited with his mom.
They even wished that the little sea canary would meet another mother whale, which would feed him, because the newborn cub would simply die without nutrition.
White whales nourish and take care of their babies for at least two years.
Many years ago, thousands of sea canaries appeared in the river St. Lawrence.
Now, they noticeably decreased up to 900. The reason of their population dwindled is the pollution of the basin water.
