Maggie Spot and her family found their cat Range on the street – they picked him up when he was a small kitten. The cat grew up with Maggie’s other pets – rats.
However, when the owner brought home two more rats, a brother and a sister, she was afraid that his hunting instinct would wake up. Luckily, her fears were completely unfounded.
Nut met Range when he was very young. She took both rats out of the cage so they could play and surrounded them with a fence that allowed them to run freely.
However, the cat jumped up to them to take a closer look – he is always curious about everything new. They quickly became friends, and Nutty became a relentless follower of Range wherever he went.
As for Nut’s sister, she never had particularly warm feelings for the cat. But the red cat and her brother became truly inseparable.
When the cat went to eat from his bowl, Nut would come and join him.
According to the owner, there were cases when Nut invaded his personal space too much. In such cases, the cat would leave or climb on anything to hide from him, she explained. Sometimes Nut literally climbed the Range, but the latter did not like it very much.
Unfortunately, rats don’t live long, and after Nutty’s death, the cat seemed to miss his friend a lot.
