Pinky is an absolutely punk-colored dolphin. Usually, the pink color of dolphins is only on the belly. How is this possible?
Most likely, this is due to a genetic disorder – the usual pigmentation of the skin’s gray color does not occur. Such a factor indicates that an animal is an albino, but with such a disease Pinky is a very intelligent and quite normal dolphin, and also an incredibly beautiful one.
For a long time, the question about its sex remained open. Experts tried to find out what sex this “pink miracle” is: a girl (because of the color) or is it still a boy? And, finally, in 2016 the dolphin let the camera go to her during the mating season.
Charter Boat Captain Eric Rue, took photographs of this dolphin while sailing in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The first acquaintance of a man with this non-standard specimen happened in 2007.
Pinky is a very curious dolphin, she is so addicted that she swims up to ships 10 feet away! The captain shared with reporters that he was very happy when he finally found out the gender of the dolphin.
