Animals generally live up to 2 decades but there are some exceptions when they survive longer.
There are few animals that are lucky to be cold the oldest in their species. Meet a 25 years old Bengali tiger – the oldest tiger in the world.
Bengali has lived her life in a wildlife sanctuary in Tyler, Texas since 2000. On August 31 she will turn 26.
Normally tigers live 12 years in the wild. In captivity, they live 15-20 years.
But this is not about tiger Bengali that loves life.
The tiger is at the center of attention. The sanctuary workers joke that they give her food with a silver plate. Actually it’s stainless steel but looks like silver especially because it belongs to Bengali. The species is endangered and animal lovers do everything to keep them safe.
At first, the female tiger was shy at the sanctuary but gradually she has become an inseparable part of it.
Each birthday of Bengali has been celebrated in a special style.
This tiger and the other inhabitants of the sanctuary are in safe hands. They have the best life conditions: freshwater, pool to cool off, toys, tress, platforms to climb, etc.
