British photographer Simon Needham is sincerely happy, like a small child, that he managed not only to see the lion named Moya but also to “persuade” him to pose for a shooting.
This is not just for two reasons at once, the lion is narcissistic and capricious, plus it was necessary to choose an angle from which all its beauty would be revealed.
Otherwise, why take pictures?
Moya is not an albino, but a carrier of a rare gene mutation, which painted his skin. Thanks to this, it is often called “fabulous”, because it is incredibly beautiful and unreal, as if magical.
The six-year-old big cat lives in South Africa, in the Glenn Harrif Nature Reserve, where nothing threatens him.
Including photographers – so as not to bother the majestic beast, they are forbidden to leave their cars.
But as Needham says, the wait and the patience are worth it, because Moya knows his worth and from time to time deliberately adopts suitable poses for shooting!
Moya’s abundant white mane will captivate at first sight. There are also white lionesses in the sanctuary – who knows, maybe they will have wonderful white lion cubs?
Just enjoy these pictures of the majestic lion Moya!
