During a visit to the African park Masai Mara, tourists witnessed a breathtaking scene that vividly illustrates the balance of power in the wild.
First, they noticed how the lion’s pride attacked the hyenas – the cats playfully fought with their rivals and even killed one cub.
By this, they made it clear who dominates this territory, but the hyenas turned out to be not too understanding (or too stubborn) – later they returned to the same place, while the group of hyenas turned out to be even larger.
Moreover, having met with a lonely lioness, they immediately attacked her in a crowd. About ten hyenas immediately rushed to the predator, grabbing it from different sides.
Of course, no hyena alone would have coped with it, but in a group, these predators become effective killers – incredibly aggressive and confident in their abilities.
However, even in this case, the hyenas could not take revenge: the pride did not have time to go far.
Reacting to the sounds of a struggle and a roar for the help of their friend, the lionesses rushed to save their fellow and in a matter of seconds put the hyenas to flight.
They cautiously ran back to a safe distance, and soon left the battlefield altogether.
