The life of the horse named Journey hasn’t been easy until recently. She experienced lots of stress and a bad attitude.
But the horrific part of her story was ending up in a slaughterhouse. Yes, Journey and the other 28 horses were going to be taken to a slaughter when a tragic crash happened on the road.
It was in October 2020 when 10 of the horses couldn’t survive. The others were transferred to the Humane Society’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch.
They appeared to have leg abrasions, head and eye traumas, body damages and shock. Thankfully, the rescue ranch took care of them, securing ownership of the horses.
Sadly, it was proved that the poor animals were being taken to a slaughterhouse. What good news, they won’t have such a cruel fate.
After a month the rescue team found out that one of the horses was pregnant. Fortunately, the pregnant horse named Journey has minimal injuries from the accident. She successfully recovered and enjoyed a restful pregnancy.
The animal care center announced on Facebook that they would live stream the birth of the Journey’s baby. It was such a breathtaking moment!
It was on August 16 when the mom gave birth to a healthy colt that was named Cruiser. Now both of them are in the safe hands of the caregivers. Journey and Cruiser are all healthy and available for adoption!
