Dying veteran has a final wish before passing away: to see his dog for the last time

Dogs are not just loyal animals. They are also friends for those who are lonely and need a companion. They are so dedicated to their owners, that some people want to see their four-legged friends before passing away.

Recently, a similar story happened with a 69 years old veteran John Vincent who was laying in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The man served in Vietnam and now had nobody but a little dog Patch – 5 years old Yorkshire.

He adopted the pup when the neighbor had a litter of puppies. Vincent remembered that the pup he adopted was the smallest one and it was comfortable to take him for rides.

Vincent had a last wish – to see Patch for the last time.

The workers of the hospital decided to make it happen. They brought the dog from the animal welfare center. On the road Patch was quite calm but as soon as they reached the hospital, he got emotional. It seemed he felt that his owner was there.

Finally, the two old friends met each other. It was a very heartbreaking moment for these two lonely souls. Vincent hugged the dog for the last time, saying, “Yeah, that’s me, that’s daddy.”

Soon Vincent died. The dog was taken back to the shelter. Gladly, now there is an interested adopter!

We wish that Patch can be the happiness of another human being, keeping the love for Vincent in his heart.
