Chihuahua hardly moved and ate from the trash. But the veterinarians were able to cure the dog and now he is unrecognizable

The owners thought that their Chihuahua was just lazy because the dog now and then gutted the trash can in search of food and hardly moved. But they were wrong.

This story takes place in Florida, USA. The owners of this Chihuahua, 29-year-old Laura Nortoni and 23-year-old Austin Lee, did not attach importance to what their dog, Klatus, was doing.

The dog just grew by leaps and bounds – not in height, in breadth. Moreover, the nimble Klatus did not waste time: at the first opportunity, he ate the leftovers and fell in love with looking into the trash can for the same purpose.

It got to the point that the little chihuahua began to weigh more than 15 kilograms, and the owners took him for a walk in a stroller.

Of course, the owners did not endure this for a long time and took Klatus to the veterinarian. The specialist assessed the health of the animal and took the necessary tests to assess the problem in fact.

It is revealed that Klatus is actually sick, not lazy. His behavior was due to hormones, or rather, their absence. Tests showed a lack of thyroid hormones, which caused the dog to have a wild appetite and lethargy.

It turns out that the body was just trying to compensate for the pathological lack of energy.

The veterinarian prescribed medication for the dog, plus diet and exercise. And this quickly gave the desired result: 12-year-old Klatus became more active as if life had been infused into him!

The dog, thanks to a strict diet, no longer rides in a stroller. After some time, he lost weight and now weighs about 7 kilograms.

Here’s what the chihuahua looks like now – like a chihuahua, and not like a ball on legs. And his friend, a Labrador named Cooper, finally has a partner to play with!
