This cat lived with her 5-month-old kittens in an old garage. However, one night, the garage was set on fire by unknown people.
Firefighters determined that there were no people inside the garage at the time of the fire, but their attention was drawn to a cat darting inside the garage several times.
Firefighters tried to catch the animal, but it resisted. One firefighter saw the cat dragging a kitten in its teeth. She carried the baby away from the fire and again threw herself into the fire.
The mother cat burned her eyes, ears, muzzle, but pulled all the kittens out of the burning building. She could only pull them out one at a time, so she was forced to return to the burning and smoky garage 5 times.
The animal burned its paws, damaged its ears, singed its muzzle, its eyes bubbled from the flame, but only when the cat carried the last kitten out of the flame and made sure that everyone had been saved, she fell unconscious.
One of the firefighters brought the cat to the veterinary clinic and she was rescued.
This was the appearance of the cat (that was named Scarlett) immediately after the incident, and this is how she looked later when her hair grew back and the wounds healed.
The kittens were adopted in a short time. Their mother was taken in by a woman named Karen Wellen. She made a promise to the members of the Animal Welfare League, who took Scarlett under her care, to take care of the cat as if she were her own child. This promise has been kept.
I guess that the only thing I can say is that she must be bravest cat ever, and it is so good that she recovered and looks absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Karen for giving her a safe and happy home,

Were all five kittens adopted by the same family or several different families. I would have kept all six together if I had been there but I know this cannot always be done. I hope and pray mama kitty is spoiled every single day of her life. What a beautiful and precious mama!

Scarlet is famous, this is an old story, but a very important one for several reasons.
First, not all cats would have done what she did, and probably not many. Cat mothers are all different in their care and attachment to their kittens. This means there is not a simple “mothering” instinct. If that were true , all cat mothers would be equally brave and caring. Also if protecting yourself from fire were an instinct, she would have not gone back into the fire. Cat behavior is much more complex than simple instinct. I have seen many cat mothers and there is a huge range of quality of care that mother cats give their kittens. The other very important point seen here and which I have confirmed with my cats that I observed moving her kittens, is that cats have a concept of number. She knew exactly how many kittens she had. She did not make any unnecessary trips into the fire, and she did not leave any behind. She deserves the gold medal for mother cats.Thank goodness for the kind firemen.

Wait until they are old and I’m happy to see the mother cat made it and her baby but I think it was wrong to separate her from her babies she risked her life to save them she should have the right to keep them

The fortunate ones are the humans who God Graced by bring them special animals. Se years ago some one dropped a small gray kitten and her kitten off near me. She was nearly starved to death and was carrying for her single kitten. I feed her and slowly she tamed down and accepted my help. I was quite surprised one day in the winter to see the cat climbing into my farm tractor with me as I was starting to feed cattle. She accompanied me every morning from that day forth for that winter never missing being in time. We developed a wonderful friendship and I decided to have her join me at my home which she has made her own. Every day she is there to awake with me. God does bless us with his little creations “Thank You Lord For Your Many Mercies And GRACES.
