A newborn girl has been 8 embryos removed from her belly after her parents thought there was something wrong with her belly.
Recently, the infant has been undertaken at a private clinic in Jharkhand State, India.
The little baby was born on October 10, and 21 days later her parents noticed that the baby’s belly was enlarged.
So, they were concerned about her stomach and took her to the hospital.
They thought it was a tumor, because of her abnormally large belly.
The doctors were confused: they did a CT scan and supposed it was a tumor, according to the images.
The infant was immediately transported to the Children’s Hospital in Ranchi city.
However, when Dr. Mohammed Imran examined her belly, he denied the existence of the tumor.
Instead of that, he diagnosed FIF (parasitic twin), when siblings are enclosed in the developing body of one of the twins.
This case is rare in medicine, though it happened to this infant.
And instead of one, the doctors discovered that 8 immature embryos were enclosed into the baby’s belly.
Fortunately, Dr. Imran claimed that the surgery was successfully undertaken in one and a half hours.
And, the baby girl currently recovers from the operation.
The doctor also claimed that cases like that one were really rare which might happen once in every 1 million.
