A 13-year-old ginger cat named Buttercup was incredibly happy when at the Nevada shelter they finally shaved off large matted pieces of wool from him.
This cat led a wandering life for several years. His former owners let him out for a walk, but one day they left and abandoned the cat. The cat continued to walk around the house and compassionate neighbors fed him, but no one cared about his fur.
It took several hours to carefully shave off all the matted hair. People took breaks in the process so that the cat rested from stress.
Under the fur, the skin of the cat was very dry and tight, he was well lubricated with a special agent to alleviate the condition. These procedures are still being carried out and Buttercup’s condition is improving.
He is such an affectionate cat, loves to be held and gets along well with other cats.
Buttercup has already found a new owner. We are glad that this wonderful cat with its gorgeous fur has found a place where he can spend the rest of his life. And let’s hope that Buttercup will never again be abandoned.
He deserves the best life and the love of people.
